Have you ever had your Facebook password taken advantage of by monetizing your profile? Or go to the bank and find out that your account is empty? This is cybercrime! It comes in many forms: a suspicious e-mail, a USB with viruses, an insecure application on your phone and many many more. If you have ever felt helpless in the face of such situations, then we welcome you to CyberCamp Tirana 2020, a continuation of our pilot project under the same name, CyberCamp Tirana 2019, but this time, fully-online through several Webinars for the first time due to the physical distance we are obligated to keep due to the COVID-19 situation.

The recent attacks on computer networks, social networks and critical infrastructure have highlighted the need to raise cyber security awareness. CyberCamp Tirana 2020 aims to increase the depth of understanding and the level of ability for a closer and effective cooperation between the citizen and the police, the community and the State Police, as well as the involvement and identifying students potentially prepared to work in the future in the field of information security and cybercrime.

The project is implemented divided into 4 phases:

1. Awareness
2. Bootcamp
3. Hackathon (Discovery of talents through competition)
4. Meeting with representatives in the premises of the General Directorate of Police

CyberCamp Tirana 2020 was organized by CBTL (Center for Business Technology and Leadership), in cooperation with the State Police Directorate (Information Technology Directorate), at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, supported by the program “Strengthening Community Policing in Albania “(SCPA) funded by the Swedish Government through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
